Hi!! it's Chef Mluh bring you another meal to your table let make a Breakfast Tofu Scramble With Spinach is a delicious and nutritious way to start your day, especially if you're looking for a plant-based alternative to traditional scrambled eggs. Packed with protein, vegetables, and flavour, this dish is versatile and customizable to suit your taste preferences. I have been making this every weekend of my bulk season and has helped me gain alot of muscle. Here's how you can make it:
Ingredients:
- 1 block of firm tofu
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking oil of choice
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced (any colour)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup spinach, chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: chopped fresh herbs (such as parsley or cilantro), avocado slices, diced tomatoes, hot sauce, nutritional yeast, or vegan cheese
How to Make Breakfast Tofu Scramble
1. Prepare the Tofu:
Drain the tofu and gently press it between paper towels or a clean kitchen towel to remove excess moisture. You can also use a tofu press if you have one. Crumble the tofu into small pieces using your hands or a fork, resembling the texture of scrambled eggs.
2. Cook the Vegetables:
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet and sauté until they begin to soften, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional minute, stirring frequently.
3. Add the Tofu:
Once the vegetables are tender, add the crumbled tofu to the skillet. Sprinkle the ground turmeric, ground cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper over the tofu mixture.
4. Scramble the Tofu:
Stir the tofu and vegetable mixture well to evenly distribute the spices. Cook the tofu scramble for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tofu is heated through and slightly golden.
5. Add the Spinach:
Add the chopped spinach to the skillet and stir it into the tofu mixture. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the spinach is wilted.
6. Adjust Seasonings:
Taste the tofu scramble and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt, pepper, or spices according to your preference.
7. Serve:
Once the tofu scramble is cooked to your liking and all the flavours have melded together, remove the skillet from the heat. Transfer the tofu scramble to serving plates or bowls. Garnish with your choice of optional toppings, such as chopped fresh herbs, avocado slices, diced tomatoes, hot sauce, nutritional yeast, or vegan cheese.
